Mapping the Global Past: Historical Geography Workbook, Volume One: Prehistory to 1500

Because the maps in a survey textbook are of little use if students don't know how to read and interpret them, Bedford/St. Martin's is pleased to provide Mapping the Global Past. This unique customized workbook, prepared by a historical geographer who has taught the world history course, helps students learn geography and apply it to their study of history. For every part, two maps from the text are reprinted with incremental sets of exercises that ask students to: 1) locate cities, regions, geographical features, and sociopolitical movements on the maps. 2) draw information from The Global Past to determine how geography affected the unfolding of historical events. 3) think critically beyond the map toward conclusions about the role of geography in the course of world history.
