Rick Bartow: My Eye

This catalog is published in conjunction with a 2002 exhibition arranged by the Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University (Salem, Oregon) and scheduled to travel nationally for two years. A brief essay by author Barry Lopez precedes the in-depth biographical and interpretive essay by curator Rebecca J. Dobkins (anthropology, Willamette U.). Bartow (b.1946), who represents the fourth generation of his family to live on the Oregon coast, incorporates his grandfather's Yurok Indian heritage into dynamic paintings and carved wood/mixed media sculptures.
