Assessment in Educational Reform: Both Means and Ends

Contributors from universities and from testing and training organizations propose reforms in assessment of educational practice, examining assessment of teachers, students, and teacher candidates, as well as state-level, large-scale assessment, and assessment of non- native-English speakers. They discuss how assessment will be used to document the effects of educational reform efforts, consider the needs of policy makers for assessment information, and discuss how to overcome special problems of interstate and international comparisons.
