ActivStats for Excel (Windows and Macintosh) provides an introductory statistics course on CD-ROM using the full potential of multimedia. It is particularly well-suited for a business statistics course, or any introductory statistics course using Excel (R). The CD-ROM integrates video, simulation, animation, narration, text, pictures, interactive experiments, and Web access into a rich learning environment. ActivStats for Excel includes DDXL, a statistics and graphics add-in that extends Excel's interactive graphics and statistics functionality. Students reinforce new skills by analyzing real-world data. Data analysis activities offer a choice of native Excel commands or the DDXL add-in.ActivStats for Excel provides step-by-step narrated instructions and then links directly to Excel. Excel must be purchased and installed separately.By using ActivStats for Excel, students develop a sound understanding of statistical concepts and methods. The CD-ROM follows a course scope and sequence consistent with the ASA/MAA guidelines for teaching introductory statistics and the Advanced Placement Statistics Course.
