The Writer's Resource: Readings for Composition

THE WRITER'S RESOURCE is a rhetorically organized reader that provides a multigenre collection of essays, poems, and short stories with extensive apparatus. The fourth edition includes a new introductory chapter on active reading and a new closing chapter on critique and review writing. As always, this edition features up-to-date pieces by women and ethnic writers. Chapter introductions have been expanded to include fuller coverage of the rhetorical modes by giving examples of how they are used in the chapters' selections as well as by asking students to examine how these strategies can be applied to their own writing. Also, pre-reading journal prompts have been provided for every selection.
