Well written and a good read
I read this book as a member of a book club, so I wasn't sure what to expect. This was an amazing story of love and survival in what were truly horrific circumstances. Based on a true story shared with Heather Morris, I recommend this as a "must read" for all who want to understand the Holocaust from a personal perspective.
The book's chapters are organized in time periods beginning with April 1942 and onwards through through the Russian invasion that brought about the end of the Nazi occupation.
I found nothing about the story that I disliked . It was a compassionate and realistic account.
How horrible to live in a concentration camp and see how brutal humans can be. It is also amazing how jewelry and gold are worth so little when you are starving to death.
Well organized, easy to read with chapters and sections well marked so you can read a little more without getting stuck in a chapter
I liked most of it but got the characters confused at the beginning
