A Small, Untroubled World: The Art of Gustave Baumann 2021 Wall Calendar
Book details
Summary
Description
Gustave Baumann's woodblock prints speak to the heart of simplicity. Whether evoking the sun-drenched splendor of the American Southwest or embracing the charm of an old-fashioned Midwest flower garden, they are self-contained worlds that reflect the beauty of everyday life. In 1918 Baumann settled in New Mexico, where he would spend more than fifty years at the center of the Santa Fe arts scene. Although his artistic process was complex and exacting, each print speaks of a simpler, less hurried time. For this calendar, twelve of Baumann's expressive artworks have been selected from the collections of the New Mexico Museum of Art.
All of Pomegranate's calendars are printed with soy-based inks on environmentally sourced paper.
