This textbook is just tremendous. The chapters are all outlined beautifully and the organization of the topics are very sequenced. I love geology anyway with both its beauty and its hazards.

The book is heavily augmented with helpful illustrations and photographs. It is recommended for college entry level geology classes.

There was a decided effort to organize the content to be logical. All topics presented were well-thought out.

The book was written for entry level and would not necessarily be appropriate for intermediate level. Illustrations and examples were not always the best (the bent-stick example for rock formations under stress and rupture).
