If you've noticed a difference between the actual weight of your package and the weight stated on the shipping label, you might be wondering if it will affect your shipment or result in extra fees. Here's everything you need to know.
A weight discrepancy of 1–2 lbs between the actual weight of your package and the weight shown on the label is generally not a problem for USPS shipments. This small difference is usually tolerated by postal services and should not impact your shipment. If your label is not sufficient and the difference is more than 2 lbs, please try to generate additional labels in the order details.
Note: The option to generate an additional label appears when the overall weight of the order exceeds 40 lbs.
No additional fees: You will not be charged extra fees if the weight discrepancy is within the 1-2 lbs range.
Who absorbs the cost: Any additional fees due to a weight discrepancy should be imposed on the provider of the shipping label, such as BooksRun, and not on you.
In many cases, you can resolve small weight discrepancies quickly by:
Checking the estimated weight of your package before visiting the postal facility. This can help avoid confusion.
Reviewing the shipping label details and ensuring that the weight stated is within the acceptable range.
