To prevent issues from occurring due to packages being lost or damaged in transit, we have implemented an insurance system which allows you to insure your buyback quoted up to $300 directly with BooksRun. We strongly advise checking out our article on the topic and insuring your order prior to shipping.
Here’s how to know if your package is insured and what to do next:
Go to your Buyback Orders page.
Locate the relevant order and open Order Details.
Look for the Insurance tab:
If the "Insurance" tab is visible – your order is insured.
If the "Insurance" tab is not present – insurance was not added to your order.

Self-service tip: Always review order details before shipping your books to confirm insurance coverage.
How to recognize if there are issues with your delivery:
The tracking information for your buyback order states, "Sent to Mail Recovery Center".
The tracking information for your buyback order states, "Visible damage / Damaged".
There are no tracking updates for your order for over 20 days.
Depending on the mail carrier used to ship your package, you may either start a FedEx claim or submit a Missing Mail Search Request with the USPS.
You can check which mail carrier was used for your shipment by opening your buyback order details and navigating to the "Tracking details" tab in the buyback in question.
