BooksRun issues payments for buyback and insurance orders via PayPal or check, depending on the payment method you selected at checkout. The payment is issued only after your shipment of books is received at our facility and examined, and your order is marked as “Pending payment”.
Additionally, BooksRun verifies the submitted items for any discrepancies or adjustments needed, such as incorrect ISBNs or condition mismatches. Customers are required to confirm these adjustments before the inspection process proceeds.
Typically, this inspection process takes about 1–4 business days.

Payments are typically issued following a 1–4 business day inspection period and then processed for payment issuance within another 1 business day.
You’ll receive an email notification once your payment is released.
During peak seasons, payment processing may be delayed due to high order volumes.

Check Your Order Status
The first step when awaiting payment is to verify your order status. As soon as your package is received at our facility, the status will be changed to "Received", and once the inspection of the books is finished, the status will be changed to "Pending payment". Confirming Buyback Payment Status
Check Your Bank Records:
Review your bank account or payout account (e.g., PayPal) for deposits matching the expected buyback amount. Ensure the payment was made to the designated account provided when placing the buyback order.
If there is a mismatch with the shipping label, it might cause delays in processing. Ensure the label provided by BooksRun is properly used.
Delays Due to Shipment Discrepancies
If the items received at BooksRun’s processing facility do not match the items originally quoted, the order cannot be finalized immediately. BooksRun will need to clarify the discrepancy or process the order based on the received items.
Please note that "Delivered" status on tracking does not mean processing or receiving. After the order is marked as delivered by the mail carrier, it is then loaded on a vehicle, which delivers the packages directly to our facility. Sometimes the packages may be misdelivered, and it also takes some time to retrieve them at the correct address. Packages delivered outside of business hours, such as after 6 PM, are officially checked into the BooksRun system the following business day, which may cause updates to appear delayed.
Check Your Tracking Information
In case your status states "Awaiting shipment", it means we have not received your shipment yet. You may check the tracking number attributed to your buyback order to see the exact location of your package. If you shipped multiple packages with distinct labels, confirm tracking activity for each label, as BooksRun checks in packages individually upon arrival.
Your Order Has Been Finalized
In case your order status is set to "Pending payment", the payment should be issued within 2-4 business days. The timeframe may be affected by your preferred payment method and, in case of a check payment, your location. You may find more information in our related article about payments.
For PayPal, ensure the email associated with your account is correct. If payment is delayed, verify the email settings.
For check payments, if you haven't received your check within 20 business days, contact support to request a reissue. Prepare to provide order details and any verification documents to expedite the process.
