Can I return my rental before the due date and receive a refund?

Before following the return instructions, it's essential to verify your order type — whether it's a rental or a purchase. Each type has different return procedures, and using the wrong method may impact your refund eligibility.

BooksRun does not offer refunds on rental charges, even if the item is returned before the due date. However, returning your item early can still be beneficial, as it helps ensure timely delivery and prevents possible late return fees.

BooksRun provides a free return shipping label or a QR code for a standard rental return.

What You Can Do With Rental:

• Pencil markings (must be erased before return)

• Removable highlighting stickers

• Use access code if included

What You Should Avoid:

• Permanent highlighting

• Pen or permanent ink

• Tearing or damaging pages

Rented books must be returned in the same condition as received to avoid damage fees.

Follow these steps to return your rental before the expiry date:

1. Access The Order Details

Unregistered Users:

• Visit the Return Rental page.

  

• Enter your order number and email address.

  • Where to find your order number?
    Check your email for the order confirmation.

2. Print Your Free Return Shipping Label

The return QR code/label becomes available 25 days after order placement. Please press the green button "Show my return labels" in your order details.

Choose one of two options to get your return label:

• Option A: QR Code

  • Select the QR code option to show at the postal facility.

  • The mail carrier will print your label for you.

• Option B: Print Label Yourself

  • Click the link “If you still want to print this label, click here”.

  • A printable label will be generated automatically for your order.

BooksRun strongly recommends using the provided return label to ensure your return is recognized by the system, which helps prevent any automatic charges. Securely attach the label and follow the instructions for either QR code or printed label options.

3. Pack Your Book Securely

• A packing slip is not required if you're using the shipping label provided by BooksRun.

• Review the Packing Guide to make sure your book arrives safely.

4. Ship the Book

• If using a QR code, just show it at the counter at the post office, and they’ll take care of the rest.

• If using a PDF-file with shipping label, we recommend postmarking the order rather than dropping off (it may result in delays).

If you prefer to use your own shipping label, notify BooksRun and provide the receipt and tracking number for the shipment. This ensures the return is documented properly in their system.

Important note: rental orders cannot be submitted as buyback items. Attempting to sell a rental back through the buyback program violates BooksRun’s rental policy and may result in additional charges.
