We did our best to make our buyback process as easy to navigate as possible. Follow the steps below to submit your buyback order.
Set Up a BooksRun Account
It will not be possible to submit a buyback order without an account, so you will need to set it up first.
You can create an account by using the "Sign in" button in the top left corner of the website.
You can either choose to "Register" an account using an email and password of your choice or create an account by logging in via your Facebook or Google account.
Next, head to your account details to fill out the shipping and billing information.
Note: the shipping address should reflect the address the order will be shipped from, as we will use this address to generate a shipping label for you.
Choose your preferred payment method by either choosing PayPal or check. The check will be sent to the address stated in your account.
Find The Books You Want to Sell
Type in the ISBN of the book you want to sell into the search box at the top of any page and click the Search button.
Note: ISBN is a unique 13-digit number that identifies a specific edition of a book or book-like publication. It can be found on the back cover of each book.
You will see all the options for selling, buying, and renting books.
Tip: You can use our free mobile app that has an in-built barcode scanner to add all your books to your Seller Cart quickly.
In case a book is not eligible for our buyback program, the "Sell" button will not be available. Eligibility is determined by factors such as the specific ISBN, current inventory stock levels, and market demand. Books may not meet these requirements even if they have valid ISBNs starting with 978.
Note: It is not possible to sell an eBook to us. Please note that we do not accept such formats of books for our buyback program at all.
For Bulk Booksellers
We are open to new bulk buyback opportunities. Please send us the list of ISBNs you would like to sell, their quantity, and the condition of each item. After we receive such information, we will forward it to our processing department and provide a response regarding our current buyback offer. You will need to wait a couple of business days so that our team can process your request correctly.
If you have the list of all the items you would like to sell at hand, you can also enter them all right in the Seller Cart.
Click the "Get quote" button. The system will process all the ISBNs you've entered and provide you with the quotes currently applicable.

Check The Condition Of Your Books
Please refer to our Buyback condition guide to ensure that your books match our buyback acceptance criteria. Pay attention to the books not eligible for sale, and make sure that all the stickers are removed. Additionally, BooksRun accepts a variety of book types, such as loose-leaf editions, international editions, and ex-library copies, broadening the scope of potential items for sale.
Note: Stickers present on the book from past sellers may hide vital information, like covering the original ISBN printed on the back cover or hiding that the book is a complimentary/not-for-resale copy.

If a book has signs of tear and wear such as, but not limited to: signs of cover or page wear, aging, "dog ears," slight odor (not cigarette smoke), slight writing, highlighting, and other markings on more than 5% of the book, you will need to mark it as having "Significant wear".
If a book is not marked for wear accordingly, the final quote may be adjusted.
Significant wear identification is not required for books under $10.
Adjust The Number of Copies As Needed
Click on the "+" button next to the title, or enter the number of books you want to sell. The system will not allow you to add more copies than what we are currently able to buy.

Cost-efficiency: A single prepaid shipping label is used, saving on separate shipping costs and logistics.
Level pricing may be applied to account for market demand and inventory considerations, which may impact the pricing for multiple copies.
Check Final Information Before Confirming Your Order
Important: Once an order is finalized, you will not be able to remove or add any more books.
You will be able to change your payment method right before order placement in case the option stated in your account doesn't work for you anymore. At this step, make sure to add coupons if you have any via the "Coupon code" button. Promotional offers or coupons can also help in meeting the $8.00 minimum buyback requirement, making them a valuable tool for maximizing your buyback order.
Note: Make sure to check the coupon expiration date if you have received it through a newsletter.
Get Your Shipping Label
During the checkout stage, you will be able to choose between FedEx and USPS for your label, as well as have an option to apply insurance with BooksRun for your shipment.
Note: for FPO/DPO/APO addresses, you will have only 1 option (USPS) to ship the books using our prepaid shipping label.
Once you choose the mail carrier, you will receive a notification with a QR code to your contact email address. You may either print the label yourself, or provide the QR code at the post office of the mail carrier of your choice.
Pack Your Books Safely
There are no strict regulations regarding what kind of packaging should be used for shipping (it can be bubble wrap, plastic wrap, etc.); however, the item should be protected from possible damage in transit, including water damage. You can also check out our packing guide.
Ship The Order Within 14 days After Placement
Your order should be shipped with the provided shipping label within 14 days after the order placement. Otherwise, the order will be automatically canceled by the system, and you will need to recalculate the quotes to activate it again. Go to your Buyback Order details (log in if needed) and press the button "Recalculate."
