Description

This book is for readers who want to make 1:24 miniature furniture with realistic details such as doors and drawers that open. I've developed an innovative way of measuring that results in exact, true-to-scale furniture. The pieces in this book are a good start on furnishing an entire 1:24 scale dollhouse. I use my own equipment but tell you about some lower tech alternatives. The book will advance you beyond pasting together cardboard pieces, to building realistic miniatures mostly of wood. Because of their size, some of these are a little harder to build than 1:12 scale counterparts, but my directions make it possible for you. You might want to start with the easiest project -- the plain top coffee table. By following the step-by-step, illustrated directions throughout the book, you can end up building the most complicated project (an amazing refrigerator with metal handles, hinges, freezer drawer, opening door, metal rack, and crisper drawer).A computer, drawing program and color printer are helpful, but not required for two projects. This book is not intended for children.
