I read the book not as a college student but as a person interested in understanding the context and history of the old testament. This book was absolutely an incredible read and provided me the framework, timelines, and cultural insights to truly understand how to read the old testament and why it's properly referred to as the Hebrew bible. I loved it.

Well organized with great maps, timelines, and a nice chapter outline system.

I would have liked to have seen more actual photographs (in color too) rather than sketches of the interesting historical artwork and/or objects shown.
