Halloween movies

It’s time to recall some of the Halloween movies! While you’ve probably already carved all the pumpkins, have all the Halloween decorations in place, and (with our help) have chosen your Halloween costumes, let’s now pick up a movie to boost the spirit of Halloween.

There are millions of movies, and new ones appear every year. Some Halloween movies are just spooky, but you forget all about them in an instant. Yet, some movies literally make your hair stand on end, and you remember them forever. Today, we’ve prepared one old creepy movie, a few new Halloween movies, and a good old one that you can watch with your kids. Happy Halloween!

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

Let’s start with the movie everyone knows for sure: A Nightmare on Elm Street. If you are old enough to remember watching Freddy Krueger on TV with his “One, two, Freddy’s coming for you,” we are positive you still get goosebumps. So if you want to go classic this Halloween and refresh the memory of Freddy’s Halloween nails scratching, go for it. Don’t tell us that we didn’t warn you about possible sleep problems afterwards…

Hereditary (2018)

Want to watch something more up-to-date but equally terrifying? Try Hereditary. Have you ever thought of what your family and ancestors left for you to inherit? In the case of the Graham family, it’s the pack of sinister and dark secrets, as it seems. If you are truly sure that no level of scariness in a movie can disturb your peaceful sleep afterward, you can give this horror story a go!

Piggy (2022)

Our next choice of a movie for one of your Halloween horror nights (oh, you don’t need to limit yourself to Halloween eve only) is Piggy. It’s a Spanish film, and it’s set in rural Spain, which is a plus if you want to watch something fresh and unconventional. It’s the story of Sara, who’s a school girl, overweight, and a butcher’s daughter. Bullied by other girls for all of the above, she witnesses their kidnapping by a stranger. While she’s keeping quiet, the movie unfolds in so many unexpected ways…

Hubie Halloween (2020)

If this Halloween night you don’t plan on being scared out of your wits, Hubie Halloween is the best pick for you. Hubie Dubois thanklessly spends every Halloween making sure his fellow residents of Salem are safe. However, this year, something goes the wrong way, and it’s Hubie’s task to protect everyone and defeat monsters. The only other thing you need to know about this Halloween holiday movie is that it features Adam Sandler, so you’ll definitely have the best of fun!

Casper (1995)

If you want to watch a Halloween movie with your kids, there is a piece of classics we can recommend: Casper. It’s a 1995 adaptation of the well-known cartoon series about Casper, the “friendly ghost,” and his adventures. Featuring young Christina Ricci, this film is still cool regardless of its age. We are positive your kids will love Casper, Kat, Kat’s father (and afterlife therapist, by the way), and even Carper’s uncles.

We wish you a spookissimo Halloween! We hope you like our suggestions for the holiday night and if you have other Halloween film series suggestions that are worth watching (we know you do!), share them on our Instagram page!
