Ebooks… they appeared rather recently but nowadays they play an important role in our life by giving us a cheaper, space-saving and weight-free option to enjoy their contents. When you purchase your eBook, you read it on your device and you finish it, your eBook stays unused since after. So what can you do about it? The first idea is to try to sell it to someone else. When you buy an eBook it means that you are purchasing the licence to this eBook but not the actual book. The copyright law on licensing can be very misleading: some terms can be very strict whereas other terms can be up to the licence creator.

I have already told you the ways to become a used book hunter in the previous article. In continuation of that, today we’ll discuss ways to make a profit out of those books that you have hunted.
Before beginning, you must understand why people buy used books. The four most common reasons are:
- To save money; as a used book can be bought for less than half the price of a new one.
- To protect the environment: Buying used books means that they’ll not be disposed in landfills and is also a good way to recycle resources.
- As an investment: Books get old and damaged, after years there might not be many copies left, people can make money here by selling the books they have been holding onto for all this time as a collector’s item.
- To own a rare/out of print book: Not all books stay in print for a long duration, some are no longer on sale. Buying such a book might interest certain specialists.
It’s not such a big secret that publishers keep making new editions of popular textbook titles every single year, but apparently, some books never go out of fashion as they keep holding the top places in our sales rankings. Most of them are required basics in such courses as Anatomy & Physiology, Sociology, Calculus etc. and serve as an introduction into the world of other specialized subjects.
